ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team was one point away from sweeping the Tars Friday night in the McArthur Center. However, Rollins rallied to take the match in five sets.
Eckerd maintained a slight lead throughout the opening set before back-to-back kills by Stella Antypa and Damyah Joyner gave EC the 25-23 win. The Tritons cruised early in the second stanza to take it, 25-18.
After a close start to the third set, Eckerd pushed in front 24-19, but the Tars rallied for seven straight points to claim the set, 26-24. RC used a 10-2 run midway through the fourth to distance themselves before winning, 25-15. The Tars edged in front early on in the final set before taking the match 15-12.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Anna Junjohann led EC with 13 kills, while Damyah Joyner added 11.
- Stella Antypa nearly added a double-double with eight kills and eight digs.
- Ashley Eck led the back row with 10 digs.
- The Tritons posted nine blocks. Jungjohann posted five, while Krysten Garrison and Kalli Schoening each had four blocks.
- Eckerd posted a season-high 15 aces. Tiani Bello led the team with four, one shy of her career-high.
- Garrison also added 32 assists.
