TAMPA, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling in three sets at No. 1 Tampa Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans started the match with nine straight points before a Stella Antypa kill got EC on the board. The Tritons went on a late 6-2 run but were unable to make up the difference as UT took set one, 25-16. The teams swapped points early in the second stanza before the Spartans took a 19-11 favor before taking the set 25-19. UT then took the finale, 25-12.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Anna Jungjohann led Eckerd with nine kills and a .316 hitting percentage.
- Krysten Garrison added 20 assists, six kills, and six digs.
- Ashley Eck paced the back row with 12 digs, while Joelle Coulter had nine.
- The Tritons hit just .053 percent compared to Tampa's .260 percent.
