ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's basketball team comes in at No. 17 in the WBCA Coaches Poll in this week's release.
The Tritons (17-3, 13-5 SSC) slid five spots in the coaches poll following a 1-1 week in SSC play. On Wednesday, EC breezed past Embry-Riddle, 83-52, and fell in overtime, 61-54, at Florida Southern on Saturday.
Eckerd currently sits third in the conference and third in the regional rankings entering the last week of the regular season. EC returns to action tomorrow at 5:30 PM, hosting Barry, and travels to Florida Tech on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
Eckerd's defense remains at the top in the nation, ranking fourth in defensive field goal percentage (33.0) and seventh in scoring defense (53.0).
