Tritons Sweep Florida Tech on Senior Day

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team cruised to a straight-sets victory over Florida Tech Saturday afternoon at the McArthur Center. 

Eckerd jumped out to an early lead before capping the set on a 10-2 stretch to win the opening stanza 25-12. EC and Florida Tech stayed within a few points of each other throughout the second frame, with Eckerd winning it 25-23. Eckerd jumped in front to start the final set and stayed ahead, taking the match 25-17.

NOTES AND NUMBERS

• Joelle Coulter led Eckerd with 12 kills. She also added 11 digs for a double-double while hitting .344 percent. 
• Ashley Eck paced the defense with 21 digs. 
• Krysten Garrison posted 36 assists, four aces, and four kills. 
• Eckerd honored its five seniors - Joelle Coulter, Anna Jungjohann, Nicki Bechtold, Agata Sklepik, and Krysten Garrison- before the match.
