ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team collected its third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season with a straight sets victory against No. 16 Barry Sunday afternoon at the McArthur Center.
EC jumped in front in the opening set and used a late 6-2 stretch to take a six-point lead before winning 25-20. Eckerd used a 9-2 run to take a five-point lead late in the second stanza, but the Bucs responded with a 7-1 run to take a 22-21 lead. The teams then swapped points before a Joelle Coulter kill gave EC the win, 29-27. The Tritons cruised in the finale and capped the set on a 10-1 run to win the match 25-14.
