Darby Paces Eckerd With Top-15 Finish at McDonough Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. - Shane Darby fired his second straight top-15 finish after tying for 13th with a three-round career-low at the McDonough Cup at the Rio Pinar Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. 

The Tritons posted rounds of 302 and 304 on Monday and followed with a 306 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 912 and a 10th-place finish.  

Shane Darby (73-71-73) T13th

  • Darby played the par 3s at an even-3.0 average and the par 5s at a 4.58 average.
  • He made 30 pars and fired a team-leading 12 birdies. His 12 birdies ranked fourth in the field. 
  • Darby made the turn at 3-under in his second round. 
  • His 71 set a career-low round and his three-round 217 set a career-low. 

Josh DiZinno (75-74-78) T46th

  • DiZinno ranked second on the team in par 3 scoring. 
  • He led the team with 34 pars while adding six birdies. 
  • DiZinno made 14 pars in his opening round. 

Andrew Demuth (75-81-78) T53rd

  • Demuth carded 32 pars and four birdies. 
  • His opening round 75 set a career-low. 

Joe Lagana (79-79-77) T55th

  • Lagana carded 32 pars and three birdies.

Ryan Hackenson (84-80-79) 61st

  • Hackenson posted 27 pars and three birdies.

  • The team's 912 is a three-round season-low. 
  • Rollins won the team title with an 850.
