Tritons Draw Spartans on Senior Night

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team honored its four seniors at Johnson Field on Tuesday night. On senior night, the Tritons equalized in the 90th minute on a strike by Kendall Drummond to draw Tampa, 1-1.

The Spartans jumped out to an early lead in the 11th minute as Erin McCarthy corralled the ball from a throw-in to put Tampa up. The Tritons were not discouraged, generating some quality chances, and firing off three shots in the half.

The Tritons started the second half with more energy, having several opportunities that just missed the net. Eckerd had an excellent chance to equalize in the 71st minute when Brooke Bisko nailed the right post. However, Bisko kept on as she found Kendall Drummond outside the 18 in the final minute to net the equalizer with 40 seconds to play and knot the game at 1-1.
