Miller's Golden Goal Sends Tritons Past Lions

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Eckerd women's soccer team ended a two-game losing streak with a 1-0 double-overtime win against Saint Leo at Saint Leo Soccer Field Wednesday night, thanks to Tariah Miller's golden goal in the 106th minute.

Eckerd's offense started aggressively, outshooting Saint Leo 5-1 in the first 15 minutes of the match. The Tritons put two shots on goal in the first half, but both shots by Krystal Torres and Sierra Hudson were stopped by Saint Leo keeper Maitane Bravo. The Tritons' attack continued to hum in the second half, as Eckerd outshot Saint Leo 5-3, with Kaia Senecal, Hajar Benjoud, and Hudson each having chances in the 51st, 55th, and 71st minutes, respectively.

Miller finally broke through for the Tritons in the 106th minute, taking a pass from Katarina Papageorgiou and firing it into the back of the net for the game-winner.
