ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team earned its first Sunshine State Conference victory of the season on Tuesday night, breezing past Saint Leo, 3-0, for a straight-sets win at the McArthur Center.
Eckerd took control from the start, jumping out to a 15-5 lead in the opening set before taking it 25-22. EC cruised again in the second set using an early 9-0 run to distance themselves before taking the set on a 4-0 stretch at 25-15. The Tritons then used a run of six straight points midway through the final set to seal the victory.
