Eckerd Falls to Sailfish in Three Sets

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team fell in straight sets at Palm Beach Atlantic Friday night at Rubin Arena. 

PBA held a steady lead throughout the opening set. Eckerd rallied at set point, rolling off seven consecutive points late to pull within two before an EC error gave PBA the set. The Sailfish used a late 15-3 run as they cruised in the second set, 25-15. The Tritons used a 10-1 stretch to take a 20-13 lead in the final set. However, the Sailfish rallied, including a 9-1 stretch to end the match.

RECORDS: Eckerd 17-13 (8-11 SSC); Palm Beach Atlantic 17-13 (10-9 SSC)

NOTES AND NUMBERS 

• Rachel Wisian and Anna Jungjohann led EC with 11 kills each. They both hit efficiently as well as Wisian posted a .421 hitting percentage while Jungjohann hit at a .391 percent clip.
• Daniella Russo-Lolas paced the back row with 14 digs, while Joelle Coulter added 12. 
• Russo-Lolas posted a career-high five aces. 
• Krysten Garrison dished out 27 assists while Aleksa Curta added 10.
