DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team fell, 3-1, in a road Sunshine State Conference match Saturday night at Embry-Riddle following a pair of late Eagle goals.
Eckerd pressed early with three shots on goal inside the opening 20 minutes but were unable to convert. Tritons' keeper, Cadence Talbert, came up with a critical stop with 1.7 seconds left in the first half, turning back an ERAU penalty kick as the teams entered halftime scoreless.
The Eagles broke the stalemate in the 54th minute as Grace Foyer converted on a corner kick. Kendall Drummond responded for the Tritons just three minutes later, lofting a shot over Eagles' keeper Oona Joiken from 20 yards out. ERAU's Foyer converted on another corner kick in the 79th minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead before adding her third goal of the night in the 82nd minute.
