ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team fell, 3-2, in a back and forth contest with Florida Southern Tuesday night at the McArthur Center.
The teams swapped a series of runs throughout the first set, but Eckerd forced a pair of FSC errors to take the opener, 26-24. The teams traded points in the second set, but the Moccasins used a 7-3 run to take the second, 25-21. FSC then used a 10-2 run midway through the third stanza to distance themselves before taking it, 25-19.
EC and FSC again swapped leads throughout the fourth set. However, the Tritons capped the set with three consecutive points to force a decisive fifth set.
The Mocs jumped in front early in the finale, with Eckerd pulling within one at 6-5. FSC then pushed in front by four, but EC again pulled close at 13-12 before FSC took the match 15-13.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Four Tritons recorded double-digit kills: Rachel Wisian (13), Joelle Coulter (10), Anna Jungjohann (10), and Ranya Mehta (10).
- Coulter added 11 digs to post her eighth double-double of the season.
- Krysten Garrison flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 43 assists, nine kills, and 10 digs. She has posted five double-doubles this year.
- Asya Harris posted a season-high eight kills.
- Nicki Bechtold led the defense with 17 digs.
- The match was the third time this season EC went to five sets.
