ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd men's tennis team dominated West Chester (Penn.) with a 7-0 victory on Sunday morning at the Fred Bullard Courts.
The Tritons (4-3) swept West Chester (2-4) in doubles competition before moving onto singles play with six straight wins.
Pierre-Olivier Lassalle and
Prakrut Patel posted a 6-1 victory in No. 1 doubles for their seventh consecutive win.
Matt Spasic partnered with
Will Stone for a 6-0 win in No. 2 doubles, followed by a victory from the duo of
Sam Walker and
Alexander Webb (6-2).
Lassalle opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 victory followed by Stone (6-0, 6-4) and Spasic (6-1, 6-1). The Tritons continued their dominance as Patel (4-1, retired),
Alejandro Vucanovic (6-2, 6-2), and Webb (6-1, 6-1) all earned victories.
"The men played great today," said head coach
Ben Maxwell. "It was really special to watch the guys play the way they did on senior day."
The Tritons are back in action on Tuesday as they host Southern Wesleyan (S.C.) at 2:00 PM at the Bullard Courts.
