BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Eckerd men's tennis team picked up a victory in doubles over tenth-ranked Lynn but ultimately fell as the Knights took five of six singles matches to defeat the Tritons 5-2 Saturday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex.
The Tritons (1-2, 0-2 SSC) earned an early point in doubles play as they took two of three matches over Lynn (5-1, 2-1 SSC).
Pierre-Olivier Lassalle and
Prakrut Patel defeated Ryan Neale and Adam Johannson 6-4 in the No. 1 draw, followed by a 7-6 victory from
Will Stone and
Matt Spasic in the No. 2 slot as EC took the doubles point.
Lassalle battled back from a first-set loss to defeat Rayane Alami in No. 2 singles 0-6, 7-5, 6-1 to earn the Tritons a second point. Patel was just edged 6-4 and 7-5 in No. 3 singles as they couldn't capitalize on their doubles victory.
The Tritons head back home as they host Walsh University (Ohio) on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Bullard Courts.
