ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd volleyball team breezed past Florida Tech at the McArthur Center Friday night in three sets while holding the Panthers below 20 points in every set.

KEY MOMENTS
- After a back and forth start, Florida Tech used a stretch of four straight points to take a 9-6 lead. Eckerd remained close and evened the score at 14-14 following an Anna Jungjohann kill. FIT responded to tie the score at 17-17 before the Tritons rolled off six straight points to pull ahead, 23-17. An Asya Harris kill gave Eckerd the set at 25-19.
- The Tritons jumped out to an early 5-0 lead following a string of Panther errors. EC then distanced themselves from the Panthers following an 8-2 run to pull ahead 15-5. Eckerd maintained its commanding lead for the remainder of the set with a Rachel Wisian and Harris block capping the set at 25-14.
- The opening few rallies of the final set remained tight before Eckerd rolled off seven straight points behind the serve of Paula Hoffmann to pull ahead 12-4. A Fernanda Reis ace capped a run of six consecutive points for Eckerd at 23-8 before a Sarah Johnshoy swing ended the match a few rallies later.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Harris led the Eckerd attack with nine kills while Agata Sklepik added eight.
- Luana Rezende led the back-row with 15 digs.
- Dana Dull posted three aces as the Tritons tied a season-high with 11.
- Eckerd has won its last five meetings with Florida Tech.
- EC hit .235 in the match while holding the Panthers to a .051 percentage - the second-lowest that Eckerd has held an opponent to this season.
