WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The seven-match winning streak for the Eckerd men's tennis team was snapped on Wednesday in its first road contest of the season as No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic earned a 7-0 sweep at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
The Sailfish (13-1, 1-1 SSC) won all three doubles matches before taking all six singles matches in straight sets.
Will Stone and
Matt Spasic suffered a rare loss at No. 2 doubles in a 7-5 decision against Erik Carlsten and Rodolfo Hasegawa. It was only their second doubles defeat of the season.
Prakrut Patel looked to extend his match at No. 4 singles into a third set against Carlsten but fell in a second-set tiebreaker, 7-1.
Eckerd (7-3, 0-2 SSC) faces another ranked opponent on  April 3 when the Tritons visit No. 4 Saint Leo.
