ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team celebrated senior day for
Alasdair Knox with its third consecutive sweep handling visiting West Chester (Pa.) at the Bullard Courts on Sunday, 7-0.
The Tritons (5-2) were dominant from the start, quickly taking all three doubles matches before winning all six singles contests in straight sets.
Knox partnered with
Prakrut Patel at No. 1 doubles for a 6-1 win while
Will Stone and
Matt Spasic won by the same score at No. 2 doubles.
Alejandro Vuconovic and
Sam Walker completed the sweep with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Spasic made quick work of Adam Courtemanche at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-0) while Stone finished off Devin Paulison at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2. The senior Knox then clinched the winning point at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Chris Succi.
Patel, Walker, and Vuconovic all won their singles matches fairly easily as well, giving the Tritons their third straight sweep and fifth straight win.
Eckerd returns to the court on Friday hosting Saint Thomas Aquinas at 2:00 PM.
