ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Despite an early goal by
Lashanti Williams, the Eckerd women's soccer team ultimately dropped a conference match against Saint Leo, 2-1, Wednesday night at Johnson Field.

KEY MOMENTS
- Williams got EC on the board early with a goal in the 16th minute. Cara Zimmerman took a free kick from beyond midfield delivering a ball just outside the box where Williams headed the ball over the keeper and into the right side.
- Saint Leo evened the score at 1-1 in the 30th minute. Briana Yamamoto sent a pass from the right side to Kelli Hippenmeyer inside the 18 who one-touched it to the right corner.
- SLU had a quality chance on goal in the 69th minute as Adriana Tirado broke free on the left side of the box, but keeper Casey Winn was there to turn back the shot.
- Kaliya Eutsey nearly converted on a shot from just outside the 18 in the 73rd minute, but keeper Julia Ortiz was there to make a diving stop.
- Saint Leo took the lead following a Carolina Solis-Deleon goal in the 75th minute. After breaking free from the Triton defense at the top left of the 18, Solis-Deleon fired a shot into the right side.
- Hajar Benjoud and Eutsey placed shots on goal in the 76th and 82nd minutes, but neither shot was able to find the back of the net.

- Saint Leo held a 13-9 advantage in shots and 10-5 favor in shots on goal.
- Winn collected a season-high eight saves in goal.
