TAMPA, Fla. - Despite an equalizer by
Stephanie Linton in the 69th minute, the Eckerd women's soccer team ultimately fell at Tampa, 2-1, on Wednesday night in their second SSC contest of the season.

KEY MOMENTS
- Tampa jumped out to an aggressive start taking three shots inside the first 14 minutes with Casey Winn turning back two shots on frame. Tampa stuck in the 29th minute on a goal by Emily Cady on a strike from the left just inside the box.
- Johanna Andersson came close to equalizing the match just minutes later in the 32nd minute but Tampa keeper Megan Bromwell was there for the save.
- Eckerd came out of the second half putting pressure on the Spartan defense by working the ball into the attacking third and registering two shots in the first five minutes. Paula Astiazaran missed high in the 46th minute while Lauren Yudin ripped a shot a minute later that was stopped by Bromwell.
- The Tritons had another quality look in the 64h minute on an Astiazaran corner as her kick found Teagan Payne who fired a shot that hit the crossbar.
- Stephanie Linton sent in the equalizer in the 69th minute for the Tritons. After collecting a deflected ball on a Yudin corner, Linton ripped a shot from the top of the box and into the back of the net to even the score at 1-1.
- Tampa took the lead in the 75th minute on a Nastasia Asgedom goal placing a shot inside the box just past a diving Winn.
- Eckerd looked to tie the match in the 79th minute nearly converting on a corner kick. Celine Brandt took the corner placing a nice ball for Siobhan Longmore who rifled off a shot that missed just high.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Eckerd was outshot in the match 15-6 and 8-3 in shots on goal.
- The Tritons held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.
- Winn collected six saves in the net for Eckerd.
