WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team earned its first Sunshine State Conference win of the season Saturday afternoon, utilizing a balanced attack to put away Rollins in straight sets.

KEY MOMENTS
- Behind the serve of Paula Hoffmann, Eckerd went on a 5-0 run to start the game. The Tritons continued to add to their lead, extending it to 16-8. The Tars then rolled off eight straight points to tie the set at 16-16. The set would remain tight with the teams staying within two points of each other before a Hoffmann kill at 23-20 extended the lead to three and an Asya Harris kill soon thereafter finished off the set for the Tritons.
- Eckerd fell behind early in set two at 10-4. However, the Tritons slowly chipped away at the lead pulling within two after a Sarah Johnshoy ace at 13-11. After trading points, Eckerd won points in six straight rallies highlighted by three straight Harris kills to take a 19-16 lead. Momentum stayed on the Tritons' side as the lead continued to grow on the way to a 25-19 win.
- Eckerd jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after four Tars attack errors in the third set. The Tritons would not relinquish the lead extending it to 16-6 following a block by Lauren Kadilis and Rachel Wisian. Eckerd clinched the set at 25-17 with a Kadilis kill completing the sweep.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Eckerd sported a balanced attack as Harris had a match-high 11 kills with Hoffmann posting 10 and Wisian adding eight. Wisian hit a blistering .412 with only one error on 17 attempts.
- The Tritons hit .222 in the match while holding the Tars to .009 percent - the lowest that Eckerd has held an opponent to this season.
- Both Hoffmann and Kadilis recorded double-doubles as Hoffmann also collected 13 digs and Kadilis recorded 12 digs and 35 assists.
- Eckerd is 3-1 in three-set matches this season.
