ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- Eckerd has another busy week with seven teams competing. Baseball, softball, men and women's basketball, and sailing will all be at home during the week while golf and beach volleyball will also be in action with beach hosting the annual Battle on the Bay tournament. Both basketball teams also begin the post-season as they host the first round of the conference tournament on Wednesday.

MEN'S GOLF

- Eckerd opened the spring season two weeks ago at the Matlock Classic and will travel to Dade City for the Saint Leo Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. In the opening week, Nick Mitchell posted a career-low 73 in the opening round while Patrick Boles posted a career-low round during the tournament as well.

- Eckerd (5-6, 0-3 SSC) looks to snap a four-game skid the Tritons host Davenport Tuesday and travel to Florida Tech over the weekend for a three-game SSC series.
- Sam Cochrane leads Eckerd at the plate with a .472/.627/.694 slash line on the season. His .472Â batting average ranks second best in the conference. Over the four games last week, Cochrane went 7-for-12 while extending his hitting streak to 11 games. Shane LeMaster is also hitting well with a .417 average while making his first career start over the weekend.
- The Eckerd rotation of Dillion McCollough, Nick Alonzo, and Robin Allen have combined for 53 strikeouts while McCollough leads the way with 22 punchouts. Alonzo leads the three in ERA (3.00) and opponent batting average (.180). Kevin Kane (1.17 ERA) and Joey Favetta (3.38 ERA) lead the Tritons in relief. Kane threw 3.1 innings last week while allowing just one run while Favetta has held hitters to a .148 average.
- Davenport (2-2) is coming off a doubleheader split with Gannon and will face Embry-Riddle Monday before heading to St. Petersburg. Zac Wilson leads the team with a .467 average with three doubles and one homerun. Andrew Click has both wins for the Panthers striking out nine over 8.2 innings of work.
- Florida Tech (4-9, 0-3 SSC) is coming off three losses to Tampa over the weekend and will play Palm Beach Atlantic Tuesday before hosting Eckerd. Zac Orchard and Jacob Buser lead the Panthers both hitting over .300 while Buser leads the team with seven doubles and three homeruns. Ty Cohen leads the team on the mound with 30 strikeouts over 25 innings pitched.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

- Eckerd (21-6, 15-5 SSC) is riding a six-game winning streak after wins last week over Saint Leo and Palm Beach Atlantic. The Tritons look to continue to add to the streak as they begin post-season play in the SSC tournament hosting Florida Tech on Wednesday for the opening round.
- Kacie Juday leads the team averaging 12.8 points and 8.4 boards per game. Juday has scored in double-digits in the past five games averaging 14.8 points over the stretch.
- During the past three games, Ada Yalcin has averaged 9.6 points and 6.7 rebounds while also grabbing seven steals during the stretch.
- Florida Tech (11-15, 8-12 SSC) enters the tournament off two losses last weekend to Nova Southeastern and Embry-Riddle. DeLise Williams leads the Panthers averaging 12.8 points per game while Kailyn Ebb leads the team with 6.2 rebounds per game.
- Eckerd swept Florida Tech in the regular season series. Eckerd won on the road 74-59 with four Tritons in double figures. At home, the Tritons won 65-43 and held the Panthers to just 15 points in the second half. Abby Whiteye averages 13.5 points over Florida Tech this season. Â

- Eckerd (21-6, 14-6 SSC) enters the week on a four-game winning streak with wins over Saint Leo and Palm Beach Atlantic last week. The Tritons begin post-season play hosting Palm Beach Atlantic for the first round of the SSC tournament Wednesday night.
- Trevon Young, Drushaun McLaurn, and Marco Behori have led the team lately. Â Young has scored in the 20's in six straight games averaging 22.6 points during the stretch. McLaurn has scored in double-digits in five consecutive games averaging 19.0 points during that time. Behori has led the team from behind the arc in the past five games shooting at a 59 percent clip in the five games with 13 3-pointers.
- The team ranks eighth in the country in rebound margin with a plus-8.9 average. The trio of Young (9.7), Mclaurn (6.7), and Behori (5.6) lead the team on the boards.
- Palm Beach Atlantic (15-16, 9-11 SSC) enters the tournament with a 1-1 week last week beating Nova Southeastern and losing to Eckerd. De'Ondre Jackson and Grant Gullett lead the Sailfish averaging 13.3 and 12.8 points per game respectively while Gullett averages 6.0 rebounds per game.
- Eckerd beat Palm Beach Atlantic both times this season most recently on Saturday to conclude the regular season. In the 81-69 road win on Saturday, Eckerd used a strong presence on the glass. At home, Eckerd beat PBA, 89-66, behind 21 points apiece from McLaurn and Blake Morrow.

- Eckerd (0-3) opened the season over the weekend at the Stetson Invitational facing tough competition against three ranked opponents. Eckerd looks to bounce back as they host the annual Eckerd Battle on the Bay tournament at the North Shore Courts in St. Petersburg. Eckerd will play matches against Morehead State, Webber International, Tampa, and Florida Southern.
- During opening weekend, the Tritons got strong performances out of the No. 3 draw with the pairing of Paula Hoffmann and Kaitlyn Sibson who earned a pair of wins.

- Eckerd (4-10, 1-5 SSC) snapped an eight-game losing streak on Saturday taking the final game of the three-game series with Florida Southern. Eckerd looks to continue to add to the win column in their bye weekend in conference hosting Tiffin on Saturday and Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday.
- A trio of Tritons leads the team hitting over .300. Crystal Garcia tops the team with a .356/.463/.667 slash line while going 5-for-9 at the plate in the series with Florida Southern. Nikole Van Gennep (.333) extended her reached base streak to 11 games over the weekend while Chelsea Armstrong (.314) led the team with three RBI's in the series in the fashion of three RBI singles.
- Grace Willeck (1-1) earned the her first win of the season Saturday in relief. Willeck threw five innings of relief in both games Saturday allowing just two hits and one run. Van Gennep picked up her first save of the season throwing the seventh inning of the finale. Van Gennep leads the team in the circle with 30 strikeouts over 57 innings pitched.
- Tiffin (5-0) will play Ohio Dominican before coming to Eckerd. The Dragons are led by Jamie Sevenish with a .550 batting average and Sierra Besser-Paul with seven RBI's. Tiffany Snell and Kimmy Reynolds have split the time on the mound with 0.71 and 0.54 ERAs respectively.
- Southwest Minnesota State (3-3) is coming off a 3-1 weekend and will play a three-game series with Eckerd with a doubleheader Sunday and a single game on the following Monday. The Mustangs have four players hitting over .300 with Bailey Johnson and Kali Tomlinson leading the way with .467 and .444 batting averages respectively.

- Eckerd will race in four Regattas this weekend with the women traveling to Old Dominion for the ODU women's while the coed teams host the Eckerd Intersectional and travel to Charleston, South Carolina, and Winter Park, Florida. Eckerd had a strong performance last weekend at the Jeremy McIntyre Team Race placing third overall.
