Tritons Fall at Nova Southeastern, 2-0

FT. LAUDERDALE. Fla. – Despite a few early looks on goal, the Eckerd women's soccer team ultimately dropped a conference road match at Nova Southeastern, 2-0, Saturday night.

KEY MOMENTS
  • The Tritons had two early looks on goal as Paula Astiazaran fired in a shot in the seventh minute but NSU keeper Natalie Robayna was there for the save while Siobhan Longmore's shot was blocked a minute later.
  • The Sharks countered the Eckerd attack scoring a minute later as Jemma House broke free past the Triton defense for a goal in the 10th minute.
  • Eckerd nearly equalized a minute later as Stephanie Linton sent in a shot off Lauren Yudin's corner kick but the attempt was turned back by Robayna.
  • Linton had another two quality looks in the half with shots in both the 22nd and 30th minutes but Robayna was there for the save both times as the Tritons entered the half down 1-0.
  • Nova Southeastern added to its lead early in the second half as Emma Heikkila sent in a goal in the 52nd minute with a shot from 25 yards out.
  • Longmore and Taylor Fu rifled off two consecutive shots in the 76th minute; however, neither shot could find the back of the net.

  • The Sharks held a 17-13 advantage in shots and 12-5 edge in shots on goal.
  • Casey Winn collected nine saves in goal for the Tritons.
  • Eckerd held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
