MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Eckerd softball team looks to carry the momentum from its series win last weekend as the Tritons travel to take on Florida Tech for a three-game conference series.

SERIES WIN
- The Tritons won last weekend's series at Barry two games to one. Eckerd took Friday night's opener by a score of 3-0.
Nikole Van Gennep pitched a shutout striking out three for her 10th win. EC plated two runs in the fourth off a single up the middle by
Dana Paul followed by
Kiley King's successful squeeze bunt.
Chelsea Armstrong then added an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center.
- In Saturday's opener, Eckerd lost by a score of 7-2.
Carrie Shere drove in both of Eckerd's runs. She drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning and delivered a double down the left-field line in the seventh. Eckerd won the finale 5-3 to claim the series. Shere put the Tritons in front smacking a three-run homer to left in the first inning. The Bucs then tied the score in the sixth. Shere delivered again scoring
Rachael Luckett on a sacrifice fly to right for the go-ahead run.
- Shere drove in all six of Eckerd's runs on Saturday for Eckerd's second series win of the season. Shere also has a seven-game reached base streak.
PAVING THE OFFENSE
- A trio of Tritons lead the offense – Luckett (.299),
Crystal Garcia (.260), and Armstrong (.242).
- Luckett tops the team with eight doubles, one triple, and one home run. Luckett is also in the top ten in the conference in at-bats (134), doubles (8), walks (21), and runs scored (28).
- Garcia has driven in 16 runs this season while ripping two doubles and one triple. Garcia's at-bats (146) top the conference while her 18 stolen bases rank sixth.
- Armstrong has driven in a team-high 21 runs. Armstrong is tied for the fourth fewest strikeouts (5) in the conference and leads with four sacrifice flies.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Van Gennep (11-16) paves the way in the circle with a 2.33 ERA over 171.1 innings. Her 77 strikeouts are sixth in the conference.

Janna Gaburo and
Grace Willeck work behind Van Gennep for a combined 114.2 innings. Willeck has fanned 52 while Gaburo maintains a 4.20 ERA.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- FIT took last weekend's series from Florida Southern two games to one.
- Hailey Leonard (.300) and Alexus Smith (.315) top the Panther offense. Both are within the top ten in the conference in several categories including slugging percentage, RBI's, and home runs. Smith has smacked 15 doubles and five home runs while Leonard has ripped six home runs while also stealing 17 bases.
- Rachel Pence leads FIT in the circle with a 2.94 ERA over 193 innings of work. She leads the conference with 136 strikeouts.
LAST TIME THEY MET
- The Panthers took last season's series two games to one. Eckerd won the second game 3-2. Gaburo took the win and Van Gennep grabbed the save while Shere blasted a home run.
