ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The regular season Sunshine State Conference women's basketball championship is on the line today in the McArthur Center as the Tritons host Florida Southern in the final game of SSC schedule.
ABOUT THE MOCS: Florida Southern enters today's game trailing Eckerd by a game in the SSC standings. Â After a three-game losing streak to close January, the Mocs have rolled off seven straight wins, most of which have been by large margins. Â Four players average in double figures led by Camille Giardina at 13.2 points per game. Â Anja Fuchs-Robetin (12.6), Jensen Blassage (10.8) and Gianna Vastola (10.3) round out a balanced offense that averages 69.1 points per game. Â FSC is also one of the defensive teams in the conference, allowing just 57.9 points per game.
LAST TIME THEY MET: Florida Southern shot 61.8 percent from the floor and made 32 trips to the free throw line as the Mocs handed Eckerd a 74-61 loss in Lakeland on January 14. Â All five FSC starters scored in double-figures. Â
Victoria Vine led Eckerd with 20 points while

TITLE ON THE LINE: The winner of today's game will claim the SSC Regular Season Title. Â Should the Tritons win, it will be the first conference championship in program history. Â Florida Southern last won the regular season title in 2012 in a three-way tie; the Mocs' last outright title came in 2011. Â A win by FSC would give the program its 13th regular-season title, tying it with Rollins for the most in SSC history.
SENIOR DAY: Eckerd will honor its six seniors before tip-off. Â

ABOUT THE MOCS: Florida Southern is fighting for position in the next week's conference tournament, entering today in a tie for sixth place with Lynn. Â The Mocs have dropped three straight games coming into today's matchup. Â Five players average in double-figures for an offense that scores 83.6 points per game. Â Senior Michael Volovic leads the way with 15.7 points per game and has knocked down 81 3-pointers, fifth-most in the SSC. Jarel Spellman, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, leads the conference in blocked shots with 3.7 per game.
LAST TIME THEY MET: FSC shot 62.5 percent in the second half on the way to an 87-79 win over Eckerd on January 14 in Lakeland. Â Jack Rauch recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists as six Mocs scored in double figures. Â
Drushaun McLaurn led the way for Eckerd with 26 points.
