ASSUMPCAO IS GOLDEN: On Friday night,
Matheus Assumpcao's brilliant golden goal in the 96th minute lifted Eckerd to a 1-0 victory over the University of North Georgia. He was assisted by
Juan David Tejada, who notched both the equalizer and game-winner on Wednesday in a 2-1 win over Webber International (Fla.).
KEEPING IT CLEAN: Eckerd goalkeeper
Alex Gott recorded his second clean sheet of the season and 10th of his career on Friday night, holding North Georgia without a goal for the second straight season. Gott ranks fifth in Eckerd history in career shutouts.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Tritons have been very tough to beat at the Turley Athletic Complex over the last two seasons, running their home record to 8-1-1 since the beginning of 2015. Today's contest is the fourth in a five-match home stand to open the season, culminating with Wednesday's SSC opener against Saint Leo.
SUNSHINE STATE STRETCH: Clayton State, a member of the Peach Belt Conference, has played a Sunshine State schedule early in the season. The Lakers lost at home to Palm Beach Atlantic (2-0) and Barry (5-4) before falling on the road to Tampa on Friday, 4-0.
