The Statesmen struck twice in a four-minute span late in the opening half, finding the net in the 30th and 34th minutes to take a 2-0 advantage into the break. Delta State added its final tally in the 53rd minute.

Eckerd generated more pressure after halftime, taking seven of its eight shots in the second frame. Harrison Thompson, Monty Clark and Gavin Spuler each placed a shot on target, while Lucas Quinones led the Tritons with two attempts.

Duran van Woerkom made four saves in goal for Eckerd.

The Tritons held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks while Delta State finished with an 11-8 advantage in shots.

Eckerd moves to 1-3 on the season. The team will return home to face Trinity on Wednesday.
