WIN AND YOU'RE IN: A win tonight will not only secure a spot for the Tritons in the SSC Tournament, it will also lock up the No. 4 seed and guarantee a first-round home contest. Â Should EC earn the fourth seed, it would put a conference tournament match at Eckerd for the first time since 2012. Â However, even with a draw tonight, the Tritons would still clinch a top-six spot and a tournament bid though they would have to go on the road for a first-round matchup.
PLAYING FOR SURVIVAL: Tonight is a must-win for Barry to have a chance at earning a spot in the conference tournament. Â The Bucs are in the midst of an unexpectedly busy stretch thanks to postponements from Hurricane Matthew, with tonight's contest marking their fifth in 11 days. Â If Barry can win tonight, the team needs to also beat Florida Southern on the road on Saturday to play its way into the postseason. Â A draw or a loss knocks the Bucs out of contention.
ABOUT THE BUCS: Barry boasts two of the conference's top offensive threats in Thomas Coombes (12 goals) and Hanno Antoni (10 goals). Â Behind their attack, the Bucs lead the conference in scoring average with 3.077 goals per match, though they also allow more goals per match than anyone in the SSC (2.15).
