MELBOURNE, Fla. – Tristan Bassette of Eckerd men's soccer has been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Bassette opened the week with a two-goal performance in Eckerd's 4-2 win over Webber International on Wednesday. The sophomore forward struck first in the 32nd minute before adding his second goal of the night late in the second half.
He carried that momentum into Saturday's Sunshine State Conference matchup against Lynn, scoring just 5:40 into the contest. Eckerd went on to earn a 2-1 victory, marking the Tritons' first win over the Fighting Knights since 2008.
Bassette finished the week with three goals on four shots, placing three attempts on frame.
