Box ScoreMIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's tennis team returned to the courts for the first time in over a week falling to No. 3 Barry University, 9-0 on Saturday.
The loss was the Tritons (5-8, 0-4) fourth in a row as they are battling to get back on the right track.
"All of the men competed tough today," said Head Coach,
Ben Maxwell. "The Bucs showed their strength on the court as the men faced some stiff competition. We look forward to getting back on our own courts and honoring our seniors on Monday."
In the No. 1 and 2 doubles slots,
Yosua Adiyasa with teammate
Frazier Springfield and
Stephen Felman along with partner
Victor Appelqvist were able to scrap out three games before falling to Barry, 8-3 respectively.
In singles play, Adiyasa took on the No. 4 player in the nation in Fabian Groetsch. The powerhouse came out strong, ousting Adiyasa in straight set decisions.
Eckerd will honor three seniors on Monday at home against St. Thomas (Minn.) at 3 p.m.
