MEN'S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY: Puerto Rico-Bayamon at Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd College men's basketball team hosts its annual Thanksgiving Classic this weekend, opening the event on Friday hosting Puerto Rico-Bayamon at 7:30 PM.

ABOUT THE COWBOYS
- UPR-Bayamon is making a four-game swing through Florida taking on teams from the Sunshine State Conference.  The Cowboys have visited Rollins and Florida Southern, losing both by wide margins.
- The Cowboys like to use the 3-pointer regularly, averging 32 attempts from behind the arc per game so far this season.  They make an average of 11 per game.
- Alexis Parilla opened the season with a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds) in a 105-72 loss at Rollins.  He leads the team in scoring at 13 points per game.

ABOUT THE TRITONS
- Eckerd is coming off an 82-67 win over NCAA Division III Franklin (Ind.) College on Tuesday.  The Tritons enter the weekend on a four-game winning streak and have scored at least 80 points in each of the wins.
- Balance continues to be a theme for Eckerd on offense with six player averaging 9.4 points per game or better, led by Jerrick Stevenson's 14.6 ppg average.  Seven players have scored in double figures so far this season.
- Obi Kyei is coming off one of his best performances of the season on Tuesday night with 15 points and eight rebounds.  The junior from Sydney, Australia, went 6-of-8 from the field.

LOOKING BACK
Eckerd hosted UPR-Bayamon on November 28, 2014, and walked away with a 76-58 win.  Trevon Young led the way with 19 points while Stevenson had 14 and Kevin Walsh added 11.  The Tritons lead the all-time series, 17-0.
