COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Eckerd College men's soccer team moved to 1-1 on the season after they were defeated by the University of Alabama-Huntsville Sunday, 3-0.

UAH was able to get on the board in the middle of the first half off the foot of Mitch Wilson in the 19th minute.

The rest of the first half was a battle of possession.

Nick Jackson and Marcus Lohrmann both managed to get shots off, but both missed wide.

EC came out firing in the second half. Wyeth Leemon took a hard shot in the beginning minutes which was blocked by the Charger defense.

A defensive battle ensued until the 82nd minute when UAH added their second goal of the contest. They would add another goal in the 85th minute as the Tritons fell, 3-0.

"Overall I am pleased with the group," said head coach, Cristian Neagu. "We made some mistakes today and we got punished. We talked about it and we will learn from it as we get ready for our home opener."

Eckerd will return home after their opening weekend in Columbus, Ga. to host Clearwater Christian College Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
