2014-15 Women's Basketball Schedule
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd College women's basketball team released its 2014-15 regular season schedule Monday, with several high profile games to start off the year.
A trip to central Ohio, for a pair of Division I exhibition matchups, will mark the start of the 2014-15 campaign. The Tritons will travel to the University of Dayton and UD Arena, Nov. 7, to take on the Flyers.
The team will then travel to Columbus, OH to take on The Ohio State University, Nov. 9, in the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
"We are very excited to be traveling to Ohio this year," said head coach,
Paul Honsinger. "This is a great opportunity for our team to get a chance to play on a big time stage."
Coming off last year's trip to the conference tournament quarterfinals, the Tritons look to make a splash during their 2014-15 campaign. Eckerd will have a busy year ahead of them with a 27 game schedule.
The Tritons home opener will bring the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez to the McArthur Center, Monday, Nov. 24.
Holiday festivities ring in the regular season as Eckerd will host another edition of the Thanksgiving Classic, Nov. 28-29.
The Tritons will take on Southern New Hampshire University and the University of Puerto Rico Bayamón in the tournament.
Early December marks the start of Sunshine State Conference competition. The Tritons are set to open conference play against Florida Tech on the road, Dec. 6.
EC will square off against Nova Southeastern University (Jan. 3) and the University of Tampa (Jan. 7) for their first home SSC contests in 2015.
When asked about the conference, coach Honsinger said, "the SSC will be as competitive as it's ever been and our women really understand the importance of being at the top of our game come January into conference play."
