Saint Leo Trumps Men’s Basketball On Senior Night, 60-57

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Saint Leo University made a second half comeback to upset the Eckerd College men's basketball team on senior night on Wednesday night, 60-57, at the McArthur Center.

Before the game, Eckerd (15-12, 7-8 SSC) honored its three seniors in Alex Bodney, Junior McLeod and Josh Snodgrass, while also recognizing seniors Chim Kadima, Jerrel Harris and Spenser Mitchell of Saint Leo's (21-7, 9-6 SSC) squad.

Eckerd put on a dominating performance in the first half of play and led 34-26 heading into the final 20 minutes. The Tritons held the Lions to less than 31 percent from the field, while shooting 48 percent.

The Tritons built their lead by as much as 10 points on a three-pointer from sophomore E.J. Moody with 10:30 left in the game, but the Lions followed with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 51 with 5:29 left on the clock.

With 2:05 remaining in the game, a layup from junior Malcolm Brunner Jr. put the Tritons ahead by one, 57-56.

On the next possession, Harris sank a jumper to put Saint Leo ahead by one and give it the final edge to close out the win.

Brunner Jr. led the Tritons' offense, posting his fourth double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Snodgrass and Moody each added 10 points, while Bodney added eight.

Harris led all scorers with 20 points and added five assists, and Kadima added 14 points for the Lions.

Eckerd will play in its final regular season game on Saturday against Lynn University in Boca Raton at 4 p.m. EST.
