MIAMI SHORES, Fla.
– Barry University closed the deal on the regular season Sunshine State Conference crown by handing the Eckerd College women's soccer program a loss to officially close the books on the fall season Saturday evening, 4-0.

The Tritons (7-10-0, 1-7-0 SSC) were looking to topple the Buccaneers (12-3-1, 7-0-1 SSC) for the second time this season after tipping Barry in non-conference action.

Instead, the Buccaneers avenged the Sept. 24 loss at the Turley Athletic Complex and closed out their Senior Night by clinching the No. 1 seed in the upcoming SSC Championship bracket.

Senior goalkeeper Caroline Bond received the starting nod in net, the first in her career, and made five saves amidst a flurry of Barry shots on target.

Lavinia Nkomo buried two goals and assisted on another while Lauren Manna and Chelsea Stoeckigt each found the net to pace the Barry offense.

The Buccaneers outshot the Tritons, 23-7. Barry scored early in the second minute before striking for two goals in the 36th minute to head into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.

Barry goalkeeper Becca Rogers made four saves in the shutout effort.
