MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech outscored Eckerd 16-2 in today's doubleheader en route to a weekend sweep over the visiting Eckerd College softball team.
The Panthers (21-15, 6-6 Sunshine State Conference) shut out the Tritons 7-0 in game one before defeating Eckerd 9-2 in the finale.
Florida Tech sophomore Kara Dickinson led the Panthers on the day, going 4-for-6 with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored.
Eckerd (11-29, 0-12 SSC) left 11 runners on base in the opener and scored two runs off of six hits in the finale.
Chelsea Jeffares led the Tritons on the day going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Sophomore
Amelia Czelatka also had a great day at the plate and in the field. Czelatka hit the first home run of her collegiate career in the fifth inning of the second game, while making two incredible diving catches in centerfield.
