Box Score
WINTER PARK, Fla. – Freshman
Nick Murawski scored unassisted in the 73rd minute but the Eckerd College men's soccer program couldn't match the offensive firepower produced by eighth-ranked Rollins College in defeat on Friday night, 3-1.
The Tars (12-2-0, 5-2-0 SSC) found the net for three goals in an 11-minute span in the first half against the Tritons (9-5-1, 3-3-1 SSC) that broke things open early.
Evan Greenbaum put Rollins on the board first in the 13th minute and more instant offense was followed in the form of a Martin Mueller header (21:08) and rebound put-back by Matt Bauchle (24:05).
After being outshot in the first period, 8-1, Eckerd sprayed 13 shots against the Rollins' defense in the final 45 minutes, but the first-half deficit was too much to overcome.
The Tritons ended the game with a 14-12 advantage in the shot column as former Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week Keneil Baker made five saves as the Tars' netminder.
Murawski scored his third goal of the season unassisted after he followed his own miss and prevented the Rollins' shutout bid.
Senior
Alex Patterson also had a pair of shots on goal to highlight Eckerd's offensive effort.
Eckerd will wrap up the regular season on the road next Thursday against Florida Tech. The finale is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Melbourne.
