AMERICUS, Ga. - The Eckerd College men's soccer team opened up the 2010 season with a 3-0 win over Georgia Southwestern on Friday.

Alex Patterson and sophomore
Matt Thompson each scored goals for the Tritons.
“This was a great start to the season,” head coach Steve Magee said. “We worked hard for ninety minutes and deserved the win. It was a good all-around performance.”
Patterson scored the only goal in the first half off a cross from junior
Anthony Arico in the 38th minute; his first goal of his career.
Matt Thompson scored off a diving header in the 54th minute, while Lee scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute.
The Tritons next match is Sunday at 2 p.m. against the Montevallo Falcons in Columbus, Ga.
