Eckerd Falls to Christian Brothers

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's soccer team had its chances, but the crossbar was not its friend in a narrow 1-0 loss to Christian Brothers on Friday at the Eckerd College Invitational.

Anna Laskarzewska's goal in the 21st minute held up to lift the Buccaneers (2-1).

The Tritons managed 10 shots, including five on goal and two off the crossbar. CBU recorded seven shots with four on goal. EC goalkeeper Kelly Zahorski had three saves, while Buccaneer keeper Libby Hake had five.

Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn opened the tournament with a 2-1 overtime victory over North Alabama.
The tournament will continue on Sunday, with Lynn facing CBU at 11 a.m. Eckerd will follow against North Alabama at 1 p.m. An audio broadcast will be available for Eckerd's game on EckerdTritons.com.
