LAKELAND, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team picked up their fourth win of the season defeating Philadelphia University, 8-1 Tuesday evening.
The only win that the Rams (5-2) only win came in doubles action, as Philadelphia's No. 1 doubles took down Adam Hopkins and Ben Maxwell, 8-3.
The Tritons (4-7) swept the Rams in singles action. Maxwell came back from the doubles loss to take out his opponent in a super tiebreaker in No. 1 singles. Hisa Sato dominated over his competition in No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1. Like Maxwell, Hopkins went into a super tiebreaker, falling behind the first match 3-6, then coming back strong the next two sets 6-4, 10-7. Erik Thunberg, Jon Bonner, and Alex McDonald were also victorious.
The Tritons will be back in action Saturday, as they take on Rollins College at the Turley Athletic Center. Match is set to start at 11:00 am.
