ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Lynn pitcher Amber Havnar threw a complete game, one-hit shutout as the Fighting Knights (17-29, 3-17 SSC) defeated the Eckerd Tritons (21-36, 4-8 SSC) by a score of 3-0 on Friday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Lynn took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on a solo homerun by Nikki Pallister. The Knights would go on to add two more runs in the third, one of which coming on a run-scoring single by Havnar, who did the rest allowing just the one hit while striking out five and walking none.
#Mackenzie Dawson#, who allowed just two earned runs, took the loss for the Tritons.
Eckerd will return to action on Saturday as it hosts the Knights in SSC doubleheader action beginning at 1pm. Since the game is the season finale, the Tritons will honor its two seniors, Janielle and Danielle Sedoris prior to the game.
