Women's Soccer Drops SSC Contest at Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Florida Tech Panthers (14-2, 7-1 SSC) scored seven second half goals en route to a 8-0 win over the Eckerd Tritons (2-12-1, 0-8 SSC) on Tuesday afternoon at Florida Tech's Stotter Field.

Florida Tech scored the game's first goal in the 11th minute when Alyssa Esposito scored on a header after a pass from Brittany Carnegie. The Tritons held the Panthers there until the 47th minute when DeeDee Newland scored an unassisted goal, which deflected off of an Eckerd defender and into the net. Tech added to its lead in 50th minute when Carnegie and Newland assisted on a goal by Teresa Brantley, making it 3-0. Brantley and Kellie Ragan would go on to add two more goals each while Katie King would score another.

For the game, Marisa Berger and Kelly Zahorski made four and seven saves, respectively while Melissa Pyles made two saves to earn the win. Eckerd will return to action on Wednesday, November 4 as it closes out its season against Palm Beach Atlantic at 7pm at the McArthur Center.
