Erin Koenig

Erin Koenig

Koenig has lifted the Eckerd College men's and women's tennis programs to new heights as she enters her eighth total season at the helm this fall.

In 2009-10, the Triton men's team received its first International Tennis Association (ITA) national ranking under Koenig, continuing a consistent rise in the program's success.

The program has achieved high marks in the classroom as well after six student-athletes under her watch received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2012-13 academic year.

The results should not be surprising considering her background.

Koenig joined the Tritons following a two-year stint at the Bollettieri Tennis School in the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

She served as an assistant coach, an ITF traveling coach, and a technique specialist during her time at Bollettieri.

Prior to that, Koenig was a standout student-athlete at Oklahoma State University. While playing for the Cowgirls, Koenig (formerly Pauchnik) was a member of the 2001 and 2003 Big 12 Conference Championship winning teams and she also participated in the NCAA Tournament from 2000-2003.

Koenig finished the 2003 season with an 11-0 overall record in doubles play with teammate Ewa Radzikowska.

A native of Edmond, Okla., Koenig earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Oklahoma State in 2004.

She resides in Parrish, Fla., with her husband, Doug, and son, Max, along with the family's dog, Cowboy.
