Chad Parker, MS, LAT, ATC, NASM-CES is in his 6th year as the Director of Sports Medicine at Eckerd College.
He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sports medicine for the Eckerd Athletics department. He serves many roles, including a member of athletics senior staff, athletics healthcare administrator, NCAA drug testing site coordinator, strength and conditioning program coordinator, and he is also a member of the Eckerd College risk management committee.Â
Chad also helps oversee the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and assists with medical compliance for the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SAISA).Â
He also serves on both the Eckerd and Sunshine State Conference COVID-19 task forces and in the spring of 2020, Chad worked as a Triton ConnECtor, which helped connect Eckerd students to the campus during the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
At Eckerd, he primarily works with the men's and women's basketball programs, as well as men's and women's tennis and sailing.
A native of Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, Chad received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He then furthered his education at East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University to earn his Masters of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice in Athletic Training while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in ESU's athletics department.
Prior to joining Eckerd's staff, he spent time at Emory & Henry (Va.) College working in its sports medicine department, as well as at Bridgton (Me.) Academy as a certified intern athletic trainer.
He is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Florida Athletic Trainer's Association, and Southeast Athletic Trainer's Association. His other certifications include corrective exercise specialist, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), and kinesiology taping.
He resides in St Pete with his wife Greer and their dog Clara.
