Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2008-09): Played in 23 games while starting 21...In just 16.7 minutes played per game, Cann led the Tritons with 12.6 points and 5.5 caroms per game...Registered a season-high 21 points along with eight rebounds at Flagler (1/24/09).

Eckerd College: He enters his junior year after playing one season at Eckerd…He transferred to Eckerd being regarded as one of the highest level recruits in Eckerd’s history…When he was in high school he was ranked among the best as a top-50 player in the nation...With a number of top level Division I programs offering him scholarships his choice of schools was the University of South Florida…He transferred to Eckerd after spending two years, one being a red shirt year, with USF…He stepped in and made an immediate impact to the Tritons’ front court…He had several games where he showed glimpses of dominance, but one highlight of his first year with Eckerd was competing against the University of Tampa, at Tampa…He charted 16 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of play…He has the strength and power to score down low, the skill and shooting ability to score along the perimeter, the agility to get to the basket, and the leaping ability to finish above the rim…As the team’s most versatile player he will be called upon to take on a huge scoring and rebounding role for the Tritons

High School: A 2005 graduate he played for Coach Mark Hermann at Brandon High School in Brandon, Fla…Ranked in the top 50 among best players in the nation…Four-year letter winner.

Personal: Son of Wayne and Zenobia Cann…born October 30th…Undecided in his major…Has two siblings, Shivonna Hall and Trenlece Cann…A fan of Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics, Zaronn enjoys playing hopscotch and double-dutch as well as sleeping…He feels he has multiple talents on the court and that all contribute to making him a good player…His goals while a Triton are to take the program as far as possible and to get his college degree.
