    Volunteer Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Jon Cabino contributes to the Eckerd men's basketball program in multiple areas working alongside head coach Tom Ryan and assistant coach Marcus Bryant.
 
Initially, Cabino began his coaching career as an assistant to Dave Redding at Northeast High in 1997. He then became an assistant for Ed Pogorelo at St. Petersburg High School in 1998 and at Clearwater High School, he was an assistant to coaches Travis Hill and Jack Coit from 2002-2008. 
 
In 2004, he replaced Coach Hill as the junior varsity coach at Clearwater High, where he finished with an overall record of 65-4.
 
In 2008, Cabino was tabbed the new head boys’ basketball coach at Pinellas Park High School, where he coached for the next five years with an overall record of 50-76.  During his time at Pinellas Park High, he was able to send five players to the collegiate level where they continue their basketball career. 
 
He also helped start the Pinellas Park High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.  The hall of fame was founded with Cabino recognizing the importance the history of PPHS and realizing what former athletes had contributed.
 
In 2010, Cabino also started the Hoops for Lupus foundation game, where all proceeds went to the Lupus foundation of St Petersburg. He helped raised over $5,000 in four years.
 
He graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor in Exercise Sports Sciences with a minor in Health.
 
He resides in Oldsmar with his wife, Grace.
