Bryan Galuski '98

Bryan Galuski ’98 became just the third permanent head coach in the storied history of Eckerd men’s basketball when he was named to the position on April 23, 2019. A proud Triton alumnus and former student-athlete, Galuski enters his seventh season at the helm in 2025-26.

Galuski earned his first win as head coach on November 10, 2019, with a victory over Delta State. That same season, his team set a program single-game record with 16 made 3-pointers at Palm Beach Atlantic. 

Over the past three seasons, the Tritons have made steady progress under Galuski’s leadership, highlighted by a return to the SSC Tournament in 2023–24 for the first time since 2019. That same season, Eckerd recorded program-best marks during his tenure in wins (13) and conference victories (8). The Tritons earned key victories over top SSC opponents, including multiple upsets of NCAA Tournament teams like nationally-ranked Florida Southern. Nationally, the Tritons ranked 41st in total rebounds and 31st in rebound margin in 2024-25. He has also developed standout talent, including SSC Freshman of the Year George Kimble (just the second in program history) and All-SSC selection Isaiah Placide.

Galuski had spent the past 14 years at NCAA Division III Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina, as the head men's basketball coach. He also served in a dual role as athletic director for the last four years.

Galuski is the winningest coach in Greensboro program history with 183 victories to his credit, leading the team to the USA South Conference Regular Season Championship in 2007 and conference championship game appearances in 2008, 2012 and 2013. Under his tutelage, the Pride produced 20 all-conference selections, three conference players of the year, two conference rookies of the year and five all-region selections.

Prior to arriving at Greensboro, he worked under current Eckerd Director of Athletics Tom Ryan as his assistant coach from 1998–2005. While Galuski coached alongside Ryan, the Tritons made the program's first trip to the Elite Eight in 2003 and boasted a then-program-record 25 wins. Eckerd made five trips to the national tournament during Galuski's tenure as assistant coach.

In August 2021, Galuski was inducted into the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame. 

A 1998 graduate of Eckerd, Galuski was a four-year member of the Tritons after coming to St. Petersburg from Latham, New York, playing for both Harley and Ryan. As a senior, he led the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game, ranking sixth in the conference. He also ranked eighth nationally with 3.0 steals per game.

Galuski was an instrumental part of the 1994-95 team that won the program's first-ever Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Regular Season Championship. A two-year captain, he was named both all-conference and all-region during his time as a Triton. He currently ranks eighth in program history for steals with 154.records
