GULFPORT, Fla. – Aubane Statiotis posted a runner-up finish to lead the Eckerd women's golf team at the Eckerd Invitational, which took place Monday and Tuesday at Pasadena Yacht and Country Club.
The Tritons finished seventh in the 11-team field with a three-round total of 924. Eckerd carded rounds of 316, 301, and 307, making its biggest surge in Monday's second round with a 15-stroke improvement from the opening 18 holes.
Statiotis paced Eckerd throughout the tournament, finishing alone in second place at 4-over 220. After opening with a 5-over 77, she surged six strokes in the second round with a 1-under 71 before closing with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. Her final two rounds combined for a 1-under 143 as she finished four strokes behind the individual champion.
Sophie Foulds also made a steady climb throughout the tournament, improving in each round with scores of 79, 76, and 73 to finish tied for 21st at 12-over 228. Her final-round 73 marked a six-stroke improvement from her opening round.
Camille Padieu tied for 34th at 18-over 234, highlighted by a 3-over 75 in the second round. Tallulah Brooks-Williams and Diane Becassis both tied for 61st at 28-over 244.
Competing as individuals, Sarah Binaghi tied for 45th at 21-over 237 with rounds of 79, 78, and 80, while Katrin Hlynsdottir placed 51st at 23-over 239. Hlynsdottir saved her best round for Tuesday, closing with a 6-over 78.
The Tritons will be back in action Oct. 3-4 for the National Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills.
