FRISCO, Texas – Following a stellar fall season, Eckerd women's golf sophomore
Aubane Statiotis has been named to the PING Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division II Player of the Year Fall Watchlist, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
Statiotis is one of 21 student-athletes nationwide selected to the watchlist, which recognizes outstanding performances and achievements during the fall collegiate golf season.
The recognition follows a historic fall campaign for Statiotis, highlighted by an individual championship at the Currahee D2 Elite Invitational on October 27. She finished the tournament at two-under par, capturing medalist honors against a competitive Division II field.
Statiotis also climbed to No. 4 in the national Clippd individual rankings earlier this fall, establishing a new program high for Eckerd women's golf. Her performances helped propel the Tritons to a program-best No. 16 national ranking.
The WGCA introduced its inaugural fall watchlists this season to recognize student-athletes who have made an early impact on their programs and across the Division II landscape. The organization will continue evaluating standout performances throughout the spring season.
Founded in 1983, the WGCA represents more than 750 collegiate women's golf coaches nationwide and is dedicated to promoting and recognizing excellence in women's collegiate golf.
