ST. PETERSBURG -- Olivia Lindestaf of the Eckerd women's tennis team earned a win over the No. 8 ranked tennis player in Division II on Sunday as the Tritons battled the No. 1 ranked Barry Buccaneers. The visiting Bucs took the match by a score of 6-1.
After Barry took all three doubles matches to begin the contest, Lindestaf collected the lone win for the Tritons at No. 1, defeating Dana Heimen in three sets. Heimen, who is ranked No. 8 in the latest national singles rankings by ITA, took the first set 6-3 before Lindestaf secured a 6-2 victory in the second. Lindestaf outlasted Heimen in the third-set tiebreak by a score of 11-9.
The Tritons will be back in action Wednesday vs. Ave Maria.
