ST. PETERSBURG -- The Eckerd Tritons women's tennis team saw its eight-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday, falling to the No. 4 ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks by a score of 7-0.
All three doubles matches went to the Sharks for the early 1-0 lead in the match. The visitors claimed all six singles contests to complete the 7-0 victory. Two Tritons forced a third set, with
Olivia Lindestaf winning the first set 6-1 before dropping the final two.
Valentina Sanchez Bronzetti bounced back from a 6-0 first-set defeat with a win in the second by the same score. She fell in the third with a final of 6-1.
Eckerd will be back in action tomorrow vs. No. 1 Barry.
